Mike McLawhorn, owner and operator, has more than 35 years of experience in the design and construction industry. Mike’s background consists of six years of service with Architect Warren Hargett AIA; fifteen years working in the commercial design build division of J H Hudson Construction, now known as Hudson Brothers, and fourteen years as owner of Design Specialties.

Donnie Bass, director of CADD operations, has been with Design Specialties since August 1999.  Donnie has received an Associates Degree in Architectural Technology from Pitt Community College and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Construction Management from East Carolina University.
